From 28 to 30 July 2025<\/strong>, NOUYADJAM & ASSOCIATES Law Firm<\/strong> successfully organised an International and Multidisciplinary Colloquium on Sport and Ethics<\/strong> at the Djeuga Palace Hotel in Yaound\u00e9, Cameroon<\/strong>. This high-level academic and professional gathering brought together national and international experts from the legal, academic and sports sectors, reaffirming the Firm\u2019s commitment to fostering critical reflection on contemporary sports-related challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Held under the theme \u201cSport and Ethics: Cross Perspectives (Challenges, Issues and Outlines of Solutions)\u201d<\/strong>, the colloquium aimed to examine the growing ethical concerns affecting modern sport and to explore sustainable solutions grounded in ethical principles, sound governance and legal compliance. Discussions focused in particular on doping, corruption, sports betting, governance of sports organisations, and the accountability of stakeholders within the sporting ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the course of three days, the colloquium featured thematic panels, scholarly presentations and interactive debates. The first day was devoted to the conceptual, historical and legal foundations of ethics in sport, highlighting the intrinsic link between sporting practice and moral values. Speakers emphasised that ethics remains a cornerstone for preserving the credibility, integrity and social role of sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second day addressed ethics in sports management and governance<\/strong>, with in-depth analyses of leadership practices, transparency requirements, institutional responsibility and mechanisms for preventing ethical misconduct within sports organisations, both at professional and grassroots levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The third day focused on ethics in the regulation of sporting activities and the role of sports jurisdictions<\/strong>. Participants examined existing regulatory frameworks, disciplinary mechanisms, and the challenges associated with enforcing ethical standards in national and international sports law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The colloquium brought together academics, lawyers, judges, institutional representatives, sports administrators and practitioners<\/strong>, fostering a rich dialogue between theory and practice. The exchanges led to concrete recommendations aimed at promoting a more ethical, fair and effectively regulated sporting environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
